Migrating to Predictable 6: everything you need to know

Updated: Jul 14, 2020

Predictable 6 upgrade is free!

You can migrate to Predictable 6 without any cost if you are an existing Predictable 5 user.

All your settings and customisations will migrate as well!

All your speech settings, Appearance settings, Categories and phrases, Accessibility settings, etc. will be retrieved in Predictable 6, even if you are using the app on Guest mode.

2 new features will appear on your screen after you migrated to Predictable 6:

The history strip (which provides quick access to your most recently spoken messages) and Favourite strip (which provides quick access to your most commonly used phrases).

How to migrate to Predictable 6?

Do not log out or delete the app from your device before upgrading!

If your iPad/iPhone has the automatic update turned on, you will migrate automatically when it gets released and you connect to the wifi. To turn it on: On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store. Then turn on App Updates.

If your iPad/iPhone has the automatic update turned off, you can do it manually: Open the App Store, then tap Today at the bottom of the screen. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen. Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to Predictable to update only that app, or tap Update All.

Can I downgrade to Predictable 5 once the app is updated?

Unfortunately no, you cannot downgrade to Predictable 5 once you migrated to Predictable 6. However, if you prefer Predictable 5 user interface, here is how you can have a more simplified look of Predictable: On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, Open Predictable app > open the Settings > Theme & Appearance > Themes > Getting Started.

Alternatively, if you only want to hide the History and Favourite strips: On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, Open Predictable app > open the Settings > Theme & Appearance > Show/Hide Feature keys > Select "Hide" for History strip and Favourite Strip.
